All of the students (except for one guy!) were great, the administrators were wonderful, the "campus" (conglomeration of three buildings) is perfect & of course, the West Village, and everything was just amazing.
I learned more than I thought I would, and I really think I got a good feel for what it would be like there (great!).
If anybody has more specific questions, I can try to answer them.

So awesome to hear everyone had a great time. I think NYU is starting to solidify for me (especially as I am not hearing anything from other schools...)

How can you see what stage you're at for merit aid? Where are people checking?

In all seriousness, I LOVED it. So happy I went, much more confident in my decision to attend law school this cycle. Really nice area/campus/buildings, the administration was awesome... Highly reccomend that anyone considering CC also check out N.

Hey LS22, can we add the link to the OP? Seems like a frequent question.

Re: NYU Class of 2017 - New Photos in OP!
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it--the idea of law school in NYC was really intimidating to me before my visit, but now I think it could be doable and actually a huge asset to my education. Everyone was super nice, chill, smart, and down-to-earth...I could see myself being a student there, whereas that was not the case at CLS. Sad I missed the taste of NY reception though! Now if only they could give me some $$....80,000+ COA ain't no joke!

I'll be doing the April 11th visit, and use the April 10 for CLS. Hope to see some people there. Maybe we can plan something around St. Marks place for after the events

I've been sitting for about a week and wondering if this is normal?? Thanks!
I didn't know "final stage of review" was a thing...I've been at "application under review" for two weeks.

Re: NYU Class of 2017 - New Photos in OP!
For people still waiting on RTK, I did a little digging through last years' thread. It seems there there was another round of interview invites this second week in March (most people were reporting on Friday, so not sure if it was concentrated around then or spread out), and then some were waitlisted for an interview the week after. You can check out that part of invites here:

There also seemed to be general consensus that, if you applied for a named scholarship, the Financial Aid office would not release any scholarship information if you were still in the running for the big one.
No idea if they're doing it the same way, but hopefully means there is still hope for those of us anxiously awaiting a phone call

Is anyone else getting a bunch of emails from current/recent NYU law students after getting admitted? I'm wondering if I should write back to all of them or not, and I don't want to bother if its just generic mass emails.

It's part of the outreach. They were fairly nice and informative to me. You can send them emails with questions, if you'd like. You will likely also get an alumni email. Use the opportunity to get to know the school. It's actually one of the things I really like about NYU. Other schools, particularly CLS, have been pretty cold in this regard.Gucci Mane wrote:Is anyone else getting a bunch of emails from current/recent NYU law students after getting admitted? I'll echo the above. I have received some really helpful information be taking advantage of the opportunity to connect with current and former students. Also have gained some good networking opportunities for the future. Take advantage!Theopliske8711 wrote:It's part of the outreach. They were fairly nice and informative to me. Got $0 in merit aid, which was a bit disappointing considering how much I loved it at ASW....sigh...

Just appeal once more of your acceptances come in. If you have CLS, you can try and get some that way.Jessasaurus wrote:Got $0 in merit aid, which was a bit disappointing considering how much I loved it at ASW....sigh...

+1. So disappointing. I absolutely loved it at ASW, but that love isn't worth a lifetime of enslavement to loans. NYU: it's not me, it's you. It could have been a great relationship.Jessasaurus wrote:Got $0 in merit aid, which was a bit disappointing considering how much I loved it at ASW....sigh...

NYU needs the money. How else are they going to buy out that Greenwich village building and turn it into another state of the art dorm?calle_25 wrote:+1. So disappointing. You can try to negotiate it up with HYSCC acceptances or PV $$. It could still work out.calle_25 wrote:+1. So disappointing. Thanks for the encouragement ya'll. It'll take a couple of days for me to get over my heartbreak and consider giving it another shot. You.. just... did me so wrong, NYU!jdapplicant wrote:You can try to negotiate it up with HYSCC acceptances or PV $$. It could still work out.calle_25 wrote:+1. So disappointing.
