Congrats!
To those of you who have already received ASW information, do you see a schedule of events? I believe someone already asked in this thread whether or not it's possible to fly in Thursday morning (but I didn't see a response) and I am wondering the same thing. Thanks in advance.
I think I read somewhere that it is fine as long as your dates coincide with ASW. I'm flying in Weds night so it better be ok!

Thank you. Obviously I will have more information shortly but that really helps.

As long as you have a ticket that roughly matches with ASW, they will give you a pre-paid debit card reimbursement There were a bunch of people who stayed in the Bay for a bit longer than ASW.

What if you are driving up from So Cal? Do they reimburse for gas?

You should strongly consider flying. I'm coming from so cal too and southwest tickets are $69 one way.
EDIT: Doing this you might be able to push for them to still compensate for $150 dollars if you're getting a rental car too. Might work...

So, I just received an email from the Phoenix Fellowship to apply for the scholarship... but I never at any point indicated I was a URM/"person of color" (as stated in the invitation).
Is this being sent around?

Got that too. And I'm not a URM either.

Current 2L from SoCal. Flying is definitely the way to go, especially if you're going to be reimbursed. The drive is very long and very boring.
I was planning on driving up to Cal because:
A) I enjoy driving and was planning driving up the PCH.
B) There's some college buddies I'm planning on visiting that live around the bay area.
However, if it doesn't make sense financially then I might just fly in.

I'd suggest only applying if you are a URM and have a documented public-interest focus

Yup. When I received the email, I assumed I had received it because of my PI-oriented PS and background.

It may have gone out to everyone, communication between all the external funders and admissions is not always perfect.

I feel like it was targeted to people with PI-focus but they just didn't filter out people who didn't identify as URM in their app.

I'm late to the party, but I'm checking in! I was accepted back in February, and this is most likely where I will end up. I'm a Bay Area native, went to Cal for undergrad, and currently live in Oakland. Now, if I can just get any form of scholarship, that would pretty much seal the deal for me.
Anyone else ITT think that they are most likely Berkeley bound?
Also, if anyone is planning on visiting Berkeley soon and you want to meet up for a drink, hit me up.

I'm from the bay as well. You guys think they'll reimburse my BART ticket and/or gas/parking?

I can't make ASW, but I am coming to visit and I am seriously jazzed on Boalt -- does that mean I am out of luck w/r/t travel reimbursement?

Hello future potential classmates! Anybody apply for matching scholarships / heard back about matching or any other $$$? I haven't seen anything mentioned or noticed any on LSN. Thoughts?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
