Sansom Place is pretty pricey. For $1500 a month, you could get a room in a luxury high rise near campus like the Radian or 2400 Chestnut which are much nicer.

If you were looking at the lower tier of rooms, at over $800 a month, you can get a decent studio near campus - you can check out craigslist or Penn's off campus housing search.
