Excited to meet you and everyone as well! Are most of you planning on going to the first ASW in March?

:D Great!

Specs, is Harvard a sure thing for you or are you waiting on scholarship offers from other schools?

Edit: Thats a question for everyone I guess! I'm curious because I'm not sure whether or not I would take a full-ride/significant money over Harvard (if I were lucky enough to be offered $$). My heart is set on Harvard, but not sure what would happen if I had an offer in front of me worth $100k+

Harvard is a sure thing provided I don't get into Yale (which i won't, but if Moses can't part the red sea, who knows). The money from other schools isn't going to matter as I am pretty sure I will get a pretty good amount in need-based grants and I would go to HLS at sticker over CCN with $$$+ anyway. You?

I edited my other post but right now Harvard is looking too good to be turned down. I'm from Massachusetts, considering PI and want to work in Boston. I didn't apply to Yale. I should have, but I don't really regret that decision(yet) since i'm convinced I'd be happier at Harvard. The only thing that might stop me would be a Ruby from UChi. Even in that unlikely scenario I'm not sure I'd turn down Harvard. Basically, Harvard. :D

Hope to see you there if all things go as planned!

I will see you there as well! Although I am definitely thinking of visiting Boston in January - I live in NYC so it wouldn't be too hard to go up there for a weekend and visit friends from college. ps - anyone else living in New York?

I live in NYC and was planning a similar trip up to Boston.

We should follow the facebook group trend and round up the New York admits for a drink together. I'm sure there must be a number of us.

Just found this! I live in NYC too and going up for the March ASW. I've only been to Cambridge once (I'm such a bad New Yorker) but I'm excited to see it again. And up for drinks too!

Can't believe I just found this thread, kept waiting for the "In at Harvard" thread to pop up in the other forum. Excited to meet all of you, Harvard is definitely my favorite of the top law schools!

Once the second wave of JS2's pops up I'm going to have the OP of the C/O app thread link over here and I'll make a post as well to direct people here. I'd do that now but it'd probably start a riot since everyone is so nervous right now.

...maybe give them a couple days to calm down first, have you read the thread lately?

I got ya covered in the OP. Yes, I'm posting here. No, I haven't been admitted (hopefully yet)

I won't post to the thread about it though, as your predictions of an internet riot might actually happen :P

btw, how did y'all join the Facebook group? Did Harvard send you an invite, or did they ask you for your Facebook account, or did they just find you? Just wondering.

A link to the group is in the OP if that's what your asking. But, if you're wondering how anyone found the link in the first place, I'm curious as well.

Should we join the group only if we're committed to attending HLS this fall?

They send you a link, but anyone can see the link. It's a closed group, so you have to ask to be admitted, and I assume they cross-reference to weed out the fakes.

It's worth joining. Some people have asked good questions (okay, only one), and lots of people are organizing bar nights. I don't get the sense that everyone is definitely going.

Probably depends on your security settings and JS's free time. And I'm not so sure the latter exists.
