More detailed ASW info posted on the accepted students site, including travel subsidy info. $250 from the east cost, $300 from midwest, and $350 from the west coast.

Well that's good to know. Wish I were able to find more affordable flights but this will help.JMKeynes wrote:More detailed ASW info posted on the accepted students site, including travel subsidy info. $250 from the east cost, $300 from midwest, and $350 from the west coast.

Yeah, it'll be tough for me to find a flight below $350...gta wrote:Well that's good to know. Wish I were able to find more affordable flights but this will help.

how on after your acceptance e-mails did it take to get the financial aid/scholarship applications e-mail from the financial aid office?

Came home to a big packet from Duke and got really excited that it might be financial aid info. It was a letter and little brochure from Dean Levi instead.

Haha the same thing happened to me last week. Although I had only submitted my finaid info two days before, so I don't know how I thought they possibly could have had that ready for me that quickly. #foolishJMKeynes wrote:Came home to a big packet from Duke and got really excited that it might be financial aid info. I'll be down as well...not until late on the 6th though (after work). Not sure what the itinerary will be, but hopefully there's time to meet up!Instinctive wrote:I'm Feb 7th also. Feel free to PM. Checking in! How's it going people?
Does Duke actually send something through snail mail for admits? 'Cuz it is snowing like crazy in the northeast and that doesn't usually bode well for mail....

They send a package of some admissions materials and a little bit of swag. It normally fits in a mailbox.retaking23 wrote:Checking in! How's it going people?

Anyone else very torn on decisions so far? Yes, I know.. wait for the financial aid info.. but seriously, the stress is getting to me. Anyone else decided on Duke so far who is only gunning for public interest? I hope there are some of you out there! If so, why Duke, and has anyone received more info on the LRAP? Some of the wording seems a bit vague.

I'll be gunning for JAG, but I'm a bit dubious of the LRAP... I'd love more info/clarificationpcthenls wrote:Anyone else very torn on decisions so far? Re: Duke Class of 2017
Does Duke have an option to stay with current students during ASW? I'm flying from the Midwest and will be using my travel stipend towards a flight. I would like to get a better idea of what it would be like as a Duke Law student by staying with one for a couple of days (and save some money in the process...)

Blink I think we might be the same person. I'm also from the midwest and really interested in JAG...the whole tiers thing at Duke definitely concerns me too though.blink wrote:I'll be gunning for JAG, but I'm a bit dubious of the LRAP... Damn, you're right! JAG is far and away my number 1 choice. It's just really hard to get so I'm leaning towards a top school at or near sticker in case I don't get JAG and need a fallback option. Anything you're doing now to increase your chances at getting JAG?OliveBC wrote:blink wrote:Does Duke have an option to stay with current students during ASW? PM'd you, not because I'm doing anything super special and cool but just because I don't wanna derail the thread with a bunch of JAG stuffblink wrote:Damn, you're right! How long does it usually take for the package to arrive? I was accepted via email exactly one week ago and still nothing in the mail from duke.lawschool22 wrote:They send a package of some admissions materials and a little bit of swag. Is anyone going with the two-night hotel option? I’m coming from the east coast and although I could probably find a hotel cheaper than $250, we are only getting reimbursed after the open house. You know what they say.. money today is better than money tomorrowJMKeynes wrote:More detailed ASW info posted on the accepted students site, including travel subsidy info. $250 from the east cost, $300 from midwest, and $350 from the west coast.

Would be nice to be able to join you in what looks like a pretty nice hotel right on campus, but unfortunately I can't get flights from where I am for less than the subsidy amount to begin with, so that's a need for me.bellybeans wrote:Is anyone going with the two-night hotel option? I'm planning to end up at a Super 8 or wherever else I can find for a low price in Durham. I wish they had an option to stay with current students as well, but the subsidy alone is really helpful.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
