Any chance that Harvard would match a merit-based scholarship from a T14 school, or is that limited to need-based?

Most highly unlikely.

(At least from what I gather.)

No. You pay $$ for Harvard. (maybe $$$ or $$$$; those are your options)

Received my signed book in the mail today. Accepted a while ago (11/26), so there's still some coming for you early folks.

They do a pretty solid job of picking which books to send to people.

The form is kind of annoying to fill out but it is worth the chance of saving a few hundred dollars in travel expenses.
Anyone know where to get this form? I've googled it and checked my HLS email, but I can't find it.

You will have to email the admissions office and they send it to you. I don't think it is available online anywhere.

It's only need based.

It's the form for the need-based application fee waiver, since you are technically applying for that. I don't know if that's online, but if it is it's the one you want.

NYCer's, is it better to take a train up to Boston or Megabus?

Megabus. Just be sure to add about 30 min to your arrival time.

That is, unless you've got an extra $200 laying around. Trains are more comfortable and don't have to worry about traffic.

FWIW, Bolt Bus is a little nicer than Megabus IMO. More outlets, newer buses, etc. And if you make a Bolt account, they automatically put you in the "A" group that boards first. :)

If you can afford the train though, do it. So much more pleasant.

I've never tried Boltbus, mostly because they're a bit more expensive. I've been really happy with the Megabus buses, though their tendency to be late is really annoying.

I just assume that if you're asking about the bus, you probably can't afford the train. But for sure, trains are nicer.

Greyhound ftw. I've spent a TON of time on buses between boston/nyc/philly and greyhound is the only consistent one of the bunch. Plus the others make you wait along side the road. The extra $10 is well worth it imho

This is a valid point. It's supposed to snow on Friday (dunno how much though). If that's the day you're going up, that has the potential to be an unpleasant wait. Then again, I got my RT Fri-Mon NYC-Bos ticket for $32 from Megabus. It's $64 from Greyhound. Tradeoffs.

Looking forward to meeting everyone at ASW this weekend! Not that this is a big deal, but I didn't receive a confirmation of any kind after I registered for ASW - is that normal?

Hmmm... I got one, I don't know if it's a big deal if you didn't though.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
