I thought we only had one deposit, though if I'm wrong, someone feel free to correct me.gta wrote:Thanks!
This might be dumb, but I've been looking and can't seem to find the information regarding the 2nd deposit. It's due on June 1, right? In what amount? Does another form need to accompany it, like the 1st one?
I haven't heard anything about this. I actually just got a package from them outlining the things we need to do between now and classes (send in transcript, immunization records, etc.) and it made no mention of a second deposit.gta wrote:Thanks!

I would definitely prefer that, but I asked because I Googled "duke law deposit" and this link came up:lawschool22 wrote:I haven't heard anything about this. Clearly this information is already outdated with the whole April 15 thing, but I still wanted to ask here just to double check.Policy 1-7. Candidate Responses
To secure a place in the class, admitted applicants must submit two non-refundable deposits. The first deposit deadline for most admitted applicants is April 15, with the second deposit due June 1. Candidates who are accepted somewhat later than the majority of the admitted applicants are given a later deposit deadline to allow them a reasonable period of time to decide whether to make a commitment to attend Duke.
Great! Thanks for the help. Feels good to have that answer.Serett wrote:Just checked the welcome site, and yeah, should just be the one.
No problem. In other news, just submitted my application to Garrett West. All considered, it seemed to be the best choice at the price they cited to me. Anyone else still planning or already set on Garrett?gta wrote:Great! Thanks for the help. Feels good to have that answer.Serett wrote:Just checked the welcome site, and yeah, should just be the one.
Me! Yet another boat we have in common. I'm glad, actually, someone else is still waiting since I figured my reimbursement form got there a little too late. Hurry up Duke!!fkt18 wrote:Popping back in here for a quick question - who else is still waiting to receive their ASW reimbursement?
Same here. I submitted it around the same time as I sent my deposit (4/18, I think).retaking23 wrote:Me! Yet another boat we have in common...fkt18 wrote:Popping back in here for a quick question - who else is still waiting to receive their ASW reimbursement?

Can't answer your specific question, but even assuming you can't sublet, the difference is around $300 total. So it's definitely worth it to do the 12 and try to sublet. And from what I've seen, you can't really find any better 9 month options elsewhere...gta wrote:Housing question... I'm looking at Pinnacle Ridge, but a little wary of the 12-month lease (and the shorter options are cost-prohibitive). How hard would it be to sublet a 1BR there over the summer?
From what I was seeing, Pinnacle Ridge's cheapest 1BR is $715/mo in a 12-month lease but $975/mo in a 9-month. I was also thinking about Alden Place which was like $765/mo in either a 12-month or 9-month lease when I last checked. So that's why I was asking about Pinnacle Ridge, which seems to be TCR for where to live if subletting is reasonably easy over the summer. Anybody know?SplitMyPants wrote:Can't answer your specific question, but even assuming you can't sublet, the difference is around $300 total. Your state might keep records. It would have been a headache for me, otherwise, and that's even with my parents having some records. I was able to access my state records online.KatyMarie wrote:This is probably a stupid question, but how are y'all tracking down your medical records for the immunization records? Do you just literally walk into your old pediatrician's office form in hand and have them fill it out? I've never been to a regular doctor as an adult so I don't know where to go :/
not a stupid question, I am in the same boat. I am hitting up the pediatrician on Monday to see what he can do. I'll let you know how it goesKatyMarie wrote:This is probably a stupid question, but how are y'all tracking down your medical records for the immunization records? I got mine from my high school. They typically keep them on record.KatyMarie wrote:This is probably a stupid question, but how are y'all tracking down your medical records for the immunization records? Same here as well.... I'm kinda wondering if they are just never going to send it.Serett wrote:Same here. I submitted it around the same time as I sent my deposit (4/18, I think).retaking23 wrote:Me!
