How credited a strategy is buying books from 2Ls, and is it safe to avoid buying some of the books until we get to Ithaca? I just looked at the list for the first time and I'm starting to feel faint.

Quite credited. I regretted not doing this once I moved up and my e-mail was flooded with offers to sell cheap books.King Cayuga wrote:How credited a strategy is buying books from 2Ls, and is it safe to avoid buying some of the books until we get to Ithaca? Re: Cornell Class of 2017
Sounds good. My plan is to buy the cheaper ones online since I can find better deals with those and then look for the more expensive ones at school. If I can't find those, then getting them at the Cornell Store wouldn't be the end of the world since their prices for the big hardcover books aren't any worse than the average.Lavitz wrote:Quite credited. Re: Cornell Class of 2017
Looks like a Saturdays move for me...I'm just trying to get everything in order and wanted to ask about renting books. Is there any major downside to renting? Will we need some of the first semester books during the second semester? I wanted to wait to buy from 2Ls but thus far other than supplements...it seems like the prices they are offering are higher than amazon. Thanks so much for all of the help...this thread has been really helpful.

Anyone have supplement recommendations for Heise, Hillman, Rana, or Clermont?
I have chermerinsky(sp), Hillman's new hornbook, a torts e&e and a civ pro e&e
Idk if it's appropriate to ask about supplements on our class fb page

That's pretty much all you need, IMO. Maybe pick up another CivPro supp later if the E&E isn't doing it for you.Sloth Hero wrote:Anyone have supplement recommendations for Heise, Hillman, Rana, or Clermont?

Ok, thanks. I may get the Glannon guide since civ pro is multiple choice I believe. I'll prob just start buying supplements from 2L's for cheap and feel it out from there

Re: Cornell Class of 2017
Yeah, but the multiple choice on Clermont's exam will be nothing like the multiple choice in the glannon guide. It will be more like a scavenger hunt based on random things throughout the casebook. But I still thought it was useful for helping me understand what was going on with all of those rules first semester. A certain 2L is selling it on myronslist now.Sloth Hero wrote:Ok, thanks. Re: Cornell Class of 2017
The bookstore? I think I saw a couple there. I know they have a few supplements because I bought my CrimLaw hornbook there. Not sure yet if CLSA is having a supplement sale again this year. But you can always post a myronslist ad or shoot out a marketplace e-mail saying "looking for X" and someone may sell it to you. I mostly used Amazon though.vicpin5190 wrote:Lavitz (or any other 2L/3L/not 1L), do they sell E&E's at the school store? So far all my purchases have been via amazon, but since I'm in town now and realizing I may still need to get a few more E&E's/supplements, it'd be nice to not have to worry about ordering them online if they are available at the store.

Has anyone's loan money disbursed yet? If not, when does this usually happen?

Just make sure you've linked your bank account on Net Pay for the refund direct deposit (or else you get to wait for a check in the mail, I believe).Email from Bursar wrote:Fall refunding begins on 8/18.

You should be able to log into Blackboard here: http://blackboard.cornell.edu/ . From there I believe that you should be automatically enrolled in the Academic Support 2014 class.bincognito wrote:If anyone knows how to get into the Blackboard for the case briefing please share

He might be referring to the fact that the files aren't contained inside the course documents section as they're supposed to be, at least that's how it is for me.
