Re: Columbia Class of 2017
So I'm an idiot and still don't understand how to select the UAH housing option on the housing app. All I see are the UAH I-House dorms, the arbor, and Law School housing. And does anyone else have to choose a much more expensive studio/efficiency unit ($1500) as their second option? I selected Apt share ($1100) as my first but if I don't get that there's no way I'll be able to afford $1500 for a studio, nor do I want to. Anyone?

Re: Columbia Class of 2017
I'm pretty sure that if you select "no" for the three options that you listed above, they'll assume regular UAH housing. I'm not sure about the second question. Try calling? I called last week with a few specific questions and the person I spoke with was very helpful.moopness wrote:So I'm an idiot and still don't understand how to select the UAH housing option on the housing app. All I see are the UAH I-House dorms, the arbor, and Law School housing. Sweet.
I'm getting ahead of myself but have you figured out how to connect it to an existing gmail account? It seems to work but when I sign on later the connected account is gone.

I found this on the LionMail FAQ page:Balthy wrote:tlsapp2017 wrote:I already set up my email - you can set up your UNI here: http://cuit.columbia.edu/cuit/manage-my-uni, and then just use it to log on to lionmail.almondjoy wrote:+1Gary wrote:Anyone know when we get our cu emails?

Q: If I already forward my Columbia mail to Gmail, do I need to migrate?
A: Yes. LionMail is powered by Google but has enhanced privacy features and a larger inbox. We ask that LionMail account-holders discontinue forwarding.
Q: I already have an ordinary Gmail or Google account. Why should I use LionMail?
A: LionMail provides advantages over ordinary Google accounts including improved security and support from CUIT. Check out this table to see a comparison of LionMail and Gmail.
It looks like they don't allow forwarding, unfortunately...
EDIT: I just set up forwarding regularly, and it seems to be working fine. I haven't waited a while, though, so it might stop working at some point

It took me a couple of days from the time I deposited for it to "find" my UNIalmondjoy wrote:When I type in my info it says uni not found?tlsapp2017 wrote:I already set up my email - you can set up your UNI here: http://cuit.columbia.edu/cuit/manage-my-uni, and then just use it to log on to lionmail.almondjoy wrote:+1Gary wrote:Anyone know when we get our cu emails?

Re: Columbia Class of 2017
Thanks, but I'm actually not trying to forward. There's an option to link other gmail accounts (the option reads "add account"), so that once you sign into one you can just switch accounts in the top righthand corner. Makes things easier since you won't have to log on/off every time you want to do anything on the other account. It's actually working for me now, so if you're interested in doing the same just know that it might not work the first 27 times (am I the only one who thinks technology is almost always unacceptably shitty?).tlsapp2017 wrote:

i get it, you're scoobers, you're cool and ironically detached...you have a devil may care, bill me later when purchasing with paypal kind of attitude, "nobody knows where I'm headed (puts out cigarette) and I can't even speak to that m'self, pal...I just follow the dictates of my bad beating heart and my most financially prudent options, man, I ain't innarested in marching in nobody else's regiment (puts out second cigarette)...but I do know one thing: school emails, thems for the square sets, ya dig?"
end scene
ETA: sorry Scoobers, make questionable posts during periods of insomnia, gl with your decision.

Coming into the world of TLS, I didn't expect this to happen (this is my only experience with online forum-ing), but I'm now pretty curious about who you guys are IRL.
It'll be fun matching your identities when we're all a Columbia

LOL I made myself pretty obvious with my housing questions in the FB group. And yes, that film needs to be made right now.Theopliske8711 wrote:I know who you are IRL.*waferthinmint wrote:Coming into the world of TLS, I didn't expect this to happen (this is my only experience with online forum-ing), but I'm now pretty curious about who you guys are IRL.![]()
