I'm starting a clerkship soon. I also happen to be getting married in the same city where I'll be clerking.
I won't have started my clerkship before the wedding, though. I'm currently debating inviting my judge (who I liked a lot in our interview, but obviously won't have started working with).
Perhaps a dumb question, but what do you think? Would it be weird to invite my judge to my wedding? Weird not to?

I would see no need to invite the judge in this scenario where you haven't started the clerkship yet. Judges often attend (or officiate) weddings of clerks if they become personally close during the clerkship.

Unless you already have a personal relationship with your judge outside of the clerkship context, I wouldn’t. It’d be like inviting a work supervisor to your wedding before you even have a work relationship with them.
It also put your judge in an awkward situation. They’ll either have to decline your invitation, or attend without knowing anything your personal life, think through a wedding gift, etc.

It's not weird either way. I invited my judge to my wedding, and no one found it weird.

Once you have clerked, it is fairly expected to invite your judge to your wedding. Before you have clerked, not expected at all, though an invitation would not be a faux pas imo.
