Apologies if the answer to this question is obvious, but I wanted to cross my Ts and solicit the collective knowledge of this forum.
If I am publishing during a clerkship, is that okay to the extent I clear the subject matter/tone/etc. with my judge? I think that is probably all I need to do, and i expect my judge to probably be fine with it, but I just want to ensure that it would not be completely taboo to be publishing during a clerkship/make sure I am not missing any considerations.
I won't be publishing on anything hot-button. It's financial regulation related so I don't think there is anything to worry about as far as subject matter goes.
Thanks!

Re: Publishing during a clerkship?
It's not generally taboo; I also did this. Usually you would want to ask the judge before submitting the paper, because some judges do have a hard ban on publications during your clerkship. Assuming your judge doesn't, I would not list your clerkship in your author bio or would ask your judge for their preferred disclaimer language to distance the judge from the views expressed in your article.Laserguy213 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 6:11 pmApologies if the answer to this question is obvious, but I wanted to cross my Ts and solicit the collective knowledge of this forum.
