Clerking Three Years out
I'm a first year associate at a V5 in NY with a COA clerkship for June 2025 (hired as a 3L). Excited to do it but a bit concerned with the timing as I'd be coming out as a mid-level and the clerkship is not in my target markets NY/DC. I've heard my firm takes clerks back generally but what should be I expecting in terms of hiring as I'll be a midlevel?

I clerked twice when I was two years removed from law school. I think that returning to your law firm as a mid-level associate after a clerkship can offer advancement opportunities, challenging assignments, networking benefits, and should involve open communication with the firm) Seek guidance from your firm's HR department and you'll be done with this.
