Both obviously have higher aspirations (see Ho's YLS thing and Oldham's general clerk-hiring / opinions), so was wondering if anyone had juice on if the "competition" is getting to them / has led to any coldness between the two (or even friction, the tea-sipper in me hopes for).
Idk what I think or even if either will be successful in their pursuit. On balance, I think Ho's probably a better jurist, and Oldham's a better career strategist. Latter does exhibit "pick me" behavior tho with some of his special concurrences, en banc denial dissents, general unnecessary approaches IMO.

I don’t know much about dynamic between the two of them specifically, but I do know that Ho is generally disliked by the other judges on the Fifth Circuit. He is seem as pompous and difficult to get along with.

Imo Ho has gotten more responsible/normal over time and Oldham has gotten less.
