I tend to think it’s kind of ridiculous to use it on an A-, and that it would suggest you got something lower (or that you took it P/F to coast, depending on what your transcript says), but no idea really what a judge would think. How many of these do you get and would you want to preserve the option for the future (or are you planning to get a clerkship before you’ll have any more grades in the future)?
(Also tiny snark but unless you were a spring start don’t you have a strong first semester GPA, not a strong 1st year GPA? If you are a spring start, snark retracted of course.)

Get an A in Fed Courts and use it on that for maximum power move.
