Hey, I just got a Cravath screener. Does anyone know how they go? Not sure what to expect.

I know the format is 10-15 minute interview with the hiring partner, can’t speak to the substance though (although unlikely to be super in-depth when it’s that short).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 11:41 pmHey, I just got a Cravath screener. OOP here. My first round was a full day, no screener. I know the firm does a second full day of interview with other offices before an offer so wanted to see if anyone had gotten to that point or an offer.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 10:38 pmMy first was just a quick 20 minute screener phone call. Second was a full day.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 9:38 pmYou had a second-round interview two days after your first? Wow! Sounds exhausting.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 9:06 pmMine was only a couple of days later, but I applied back in November.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 7:14 pmSame.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 6:43 pmHow long ago was yours? Had the first interview then crickets.

I applied + received an offer forever ago, but as far as I remember it was only a few days that separated the two interviews, and then 2+ weeks to get to offer. NYC office.

Does anyone have a spreadsheet or anything of firms still looking for clerks? Both in big- and mid-law have gotten rejected by a few big-laws so far and no interviews or screeners yet, beginning to lose hope!

So I'm kind of confused. Is it typical to have multiple screeners? So I met with a partner two weeks ago on Zoom. It went really well and the partner passed me over to another partner last week. I chatted with that person on Zoom. Same story. It went well and then this week I met with another partner on Zoom. And now I'm supposed to be meeting with the hiring manager next week.

Sorry, I don't know anything about Akin Gump. If you find out more, let us know. I'm also interested in Akin. But FWIW, I ran into the same thing with two other firms.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 1:03 pmIs Akin Gump not accepting apps from clerks? On their website only postings are for associates with experience (laterals). The "general" application, if you click on it, says there are no positions. And if you email recruiting, they tell you to apply via their website. What a run-around. Anyone have insight on this process?

If you were choosing between Munger and Williams & Connolly, which would you pick

There is such an insubstantial prestige difference between these firms, if any, that this question does not make sense. Go where you will be happiest. If you can't decide, pick Munger because they pay more.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 4:45 pmIf you were choosing between Munger and Williams & Connolly, which would you pick

Could folks who are getting dings/interviews post stats--like what school/class ranking/type of clerkship(s) they are coming from?

Top 30% from HYS. Clerking for federal appellate court. Got a ding from Gibson so far. Radio silence from all other firms I've applied to (biglaw only).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 7:17 pmCould folks who are getting dings/interviews post stats--like what school/class ranking/type of clerkship(s) they are coming from?

Re: 2022-2023 Post-Clerkship Hiring
Current 3L with a biglaw offer lined up. I want to clerk, so I was thinking of applying for clerkships for the 2024-2025 term (so I'd start after working for a year). Is the lack of hiring reason for me to not apply right now?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 11:26 pmIt definitely should make you anxious. Top 1/3 from MVDN + LR. District court and COA clerkships. Applied exclusively to boutiques as I have a big law return offer. Applied to 9 boutiques. Callback interviews with 2, dings from 2 with no interview, radio silence from the others. No offers so far.

Re: 2022-2023 Post-Clerkship Hiring
How rigorous is the interview process for clerk hiring typically? I’ve been getting multiple rounds of 2 hr+ interviews at each firm I’ve heard back from (both biglaw and boutiques). Is this normal? Anyone else having similar experiences? It’s exhausting.

Re: 2022-2023 Post-Clerkship Hiring
One of my co-clerks has been interviewing with a boutique and it has been very rigorous from what I understand. Had a short screener, then half day full of interviews with different people from the firm, and now has been offered a third round interview which is supposedly going to be even longer. Seems intense.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 11:32 amHow rigorous is the interview process for clerk hiring typically?
