I am applying to a Judge that seems to have a very rigid unedited writing sample requirement - the piece must be a draft completed prior to receiving any feedback.
I have a memo I wrote in my 1L summer job that I wrote on my own. After the fact, my supervisors told me I did a great job, commented on a few things they especially liked, and chatted with me about the analysis. I never incorporated their comments into the piece though, because I didn't have to turn in another version of the memo.
Here I am a year later, and I see a bunch of things I want to change and re-organize to make it stronger. Given that I received some high-level comments after turning in the draft (which frankly, I barely even remember), would that technically violate the unedited writing sample requirement? Should I detail this whole process in the cover letter?
