Any incoming clerks being asked to postpone their start dates?
I haven't heard any stories of this, but I'm curious if there is any downstream ripple effect as a result of the biglaw firm's pushing back of first-year start dates

Yep. Thankfully my judge is indifferent, so I’ve been able to politely decline the “offer” to postpone.

I've heard of some postponements, but they were all at the incoming clerk's option rather than mandated. Mostly related to the delayed bar exams.

What about at-risk incoming clerks who need to fly to get to their clerkship destinations but aren't yet entirely comfortable doing so

You’d have to work this out with your judge. I know at my local federal courthouse, everyone is still working remotely, including clerks, so while it’s not ideal, that might be a possibility.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 9:56 amWhat about at-risk incoming clerks who need to fly to get to their clerkship destinations but aren't yet entirely comfortable doing so
