You mean c/o 2021? And also no I don't think it's weird.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 1:55 pmSomeone tell me it's not weird/offputting as a c/o 2020 grad to ask my recommenders to make calls today when they're spending all their time making calls for the c/o 2019.

If we already had them do that at the start of the week, are we at the point where second touches are needed, or is that your first round?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 2:17 pmSorry I meant c/o 2021. Re: 2021-2022 Clerkship Application Thread
Stumbled on this site—and then thread—and have been referring to it for info and comfort. Thought I’d make an account to share what I know: yesterday I interviewed for a WDNC district court clerkship. I went to a T-3 school; graduated magma cum laude (currently in public interest job); was on law review and moot court; and had a long externship experience on a federal court of appeals. I’ve applied to lotsss of 2021 and 2022 clerkships.
Hopefully, I hear more. But I also thought this might give hope to those who didn’t go to top-tier law schools.

Re: 2021-2022 Clerkship Application Thread
So, a bit of a "chance me" post. I'm a c/o 2020 grad from Y/S, 60% Hs, 40% Ps, 2 prizes, no LR, district court clerkship coming up this fall, trying to apply for CoAs all over the country. I suspect my recs are pretty meh but not sure.
Does it make sense that I haven't been getting any bites for the last few months? I guess my grades are sinking me? I'm feeling like I should stop spraying apps around and try to pick out a handful of unusually good opportunities (e.g., judge values ties, judge is friends with my D. Ct. judge) over the next several months before throwing in the towel.

For a data point, HYS top 25% and LR, offered DCt clerkship in semi-competitive district (EDVA/NDIL/CDCA/DMass). Wanted COA this round but no bites. Might try again next year but can't complain. Best of luck everyone.

Thank you! Do you know if this was for a 2021-2022 position or for a 2022-2023 position?

FYI Robart apparently filled his position before the plan opened but left it open to get applicants for 2022 for any folks who may have sent something inAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 3:17 pmRodriguez (W.D. Tx.) now listed as filled on OSCAR as well as Robert (W.D. Wa.)

Then why not just......be upfront about the fact that you're hiring for 2022.......? Does anyone have data on if there are more or less clerkship applicants due to COVID?

No data, just anecdotally I've heard that there's more because of firm folks concerned their offers will be retracted...

Yes, I see that both Judge Rordriguez (W.D. Tex.) and Magistrate Judge Horan (N.D. Tex.) are now filled, which is somewhat interesting to me since Judge Horan did not post his opening until June 15.

Re: 2021-2022 Clerkship Application Thread
Our clerkship office (CCN) told us that other schools were reporting a last-minute spike in applications, likely due to fears about the economy, so we should brace ourselves for an unusually competitive cycle.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 3:44 pmNo data, just anecdotally I've heard that there's more because of firm folks concerned their offers will be retracted...

What is the accepted wisdom on having more than one professor reach out to a certain judge?
