Rowland has extended interview invites (don't know how many), haven't heard anything about Pallmeyer.

So out of the district judges with 2021-22 postings on OSCAR, it sounds like Lee, Kennelly, Pacold, and Rowland have already interviewed/hired. Ellis, Pallmeyer, Seeger, and Shah still unknown?

Just want to point out that Ellis's opening is for January 2021, so it might be a little tough for c/o '21.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 2:46 pmAny updates to this so far?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jun 20, 2020 4:10 pmSo out of the district judges with 2021-22 postings on OSCAR, it sounds like Lee, Kennelly, Pacold, and Rowland have already interviewed/hired. Ellis requires post-law school work experience so she's not an option for the class of 2021 anyway.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 3:12 pmJust want to point out that Ellis's opening is for January 2021, so it might be a little tough for c/o '21.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 2:46 pmAny updates to this so far?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jun 20, 2020 4:10 pmSo out of the district judges with 2021-22 postings on OSCAR, it sounds like Lee, Kennelly, Pacold, and Rowland have already interviewed/hired. Kennelly is full per mass rejection email from chambers.
Anyone know what’s up with the judges who still haven’t posted (Dow, Tharp, etc.)? Did they already hire for 2021 or are they just really slow?

Seeger still has a Sept. 2020 posting listed as "Available." Some of these judges might not be in a hurry to update OSCAR after they hire.

Re: Northern District of Illinois Clerkships
Pallmeyer full per OSCAR.
What's interesting is that many judges who still haven't posted e.g. Tharp, Blakey, had open applications during the plan last year for 2020 but haven't posted anything yet for 2021. Anyone have any insight on that or when we can expect to see them open up?

Wood has hired one. Tharp hired one for 2021 last cycle, he might be full.

Does anyone have information on Judge Feinerman?
Someone mentioned earlier that he wasn't hiring this year but I still see the position posted on OSCAR. Is there more information on that? What is the source?

Anyone know if Wood is full? I've heard she's done at least some interviews already.

With only a few judges still hiring here for 21 people may want to keep an eye on the Senate confirmations of Iain Johnston and Franklin Valderrama, who both had committee hearings last week and seem likely to be confirmed before the election. There would seem to be a decent chance that they'd start hiring as soon as they're confirmed if not earlier, and that they'll get fewer apps than the rest of the court did on Plan day. From what I've been told they're part of a compromise between the White House and Senate Dems, Johnston is the GOP pick and Valderrama is the Dem pick.

I'm guessing Johnston will be stationed in Rockford given that he's replacing Kapala.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 5:02 pmWith only a few judges still hiring here for 21 people may want to keep an eye on the Senate confirmations of Iain Johnston and Franklin Valderrama, who both had committee hearings last week and seem likely to be confirmed before the election. Re: Northern District of Illinois Clerkships
Word on the street is Andrea Wood is well into interviewing at this point if she hasn't already finished. Shah had started interviewing by this time last year, but not sure where he stands this year. Also noting that Tharp hasn't posted yet, but from what I've heard he might only have 1 opening for 2021 when he does post.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
