Clerking after PI Fellowship
Has anyone clerked *after* one or two years spent doing a public interest fellowship? Asking for a friend!

Yes, people do this. And I'm guessing even more may start to do so, given how clerking hiring has been going with the plan, etc. (applicants needing to accept clerkships in years that are not immediately after their graduation).

Did you try to clerk prior to taking the fellowship? Do you feel like the fellowship made you a more appealing applicant than when you were just coming out of law school?HillandHollow wrote:I did this. Feel free to PM if necessary.

Re: Clerking after PI Fellowship
No, I went straight into the fellowship, and only became interested in clerking during the fellowship.
The fellowship undoubtedly made me a more appealing applicant, as it contained some litigation experience and a lot of research/writing. If nothing else, it gave me a real world writing sample, which I have discovered some judges prefer. The judge who hired me told me as well that it was a huge plus factor for me.
