Post-Bankruptcy Clerkship Hiring
We've touched on this issue in other threads, but I thought it would be useful to share information.
I'm in SDNY/DE. I know the following firms are holding receptions for law clerks, including bankruptcy:
Weil
Kirkland
Jenner & Block
Kramer Levin
WilmerHale
If anyone has info on which firms have started interviewing/hiring, that would certainly be helpful too.

I interviewed with them in NY last week. I think there were three others interviewing that day. I know of several invited to interview in the Chicago office.Anonymous User wrote:When I interviewed with them last year, it was in June.Anonymous User wrote:ANYONE KNOWS IF KIRKLAND ELLIS RESTRUCTURING GROUP INTERVIEWING BR CLERKS YET?

There's no set timeline. Which firms are you interested in? I know of a few that have made offers.Anonymous User wrote:HOW LONG DOES IT NORMALLY TAKE FROM CALLBACK TO OFFER FOR BK CLERKS?

Well, the market seems dead to me.
The only shop hiring seems to be Kirkland, and they're done in NYC.
Everyone else quiet.

Re: Post-Bankruptcy Clerkship Hiring
Nothing in Texas. I have a two year clerkship, 2016-2018. In fall 2017 I had an interview with a biglaw firm, but haven't heard anything from them since. Weird because the bankruptcy section partners were extremely positive in the interview, made sure to tell me to contact them if I get any other offers and gave me their direct emails.... then nothing. Not even a response to my email reaffirming my interest in the firm, 3 months after the interview. No interest from any other firm.
Very frustrating. I feel like my law school overplayed the value of clerking.

Re: Post-Bankruptcy Clerkship Hiring
definitely get conned about the clerkship prestige. you still need a lot of hustling and there is barely any leg up even for sdny/de.
