What exactly is a bar loan? My firm is paying for my bar prep and exam, which is great. I'm mainly concerned about housing ($1500/month) and living expenses.A. Nony Mouse wrote:Or take out an extra bar loan.

Wait, that's a thing? Firms pay bar/summer expenses even if you're going into a clerkship first? That's incredible, I thought that was one (albeit short term) drawback to clerking. And how does that not create significant ethical issues?Anonymous User wrote:What exactly is a bar loan? My firm is paying for my bar prep and exam, which is great. I took out a bar loan. 8K via Sallie Mae. (and I have awful credit, so if I qualify you will too). Plan on just paying it off in one fell swoop when i get my bonus in the fall.
