My writing sample is an appellate brief. The entire brief is 17 pages, some of which are only half-full of text because of section breaks.
Current and former clerks: Is 17 pages too long? If so, I assume I should trim down the facts section and leave the analysis; the latter occupies about half of the total pages. If you'd suggest otherwise, please say so.
Or, generally, what's the ideal length of a writing sample?
Thanks!
