Judicial Extern or take a Paid Intern Position?
What looks better on a resume? An externship alongside an appellate judge, or a paid, in-house legal internship with a large tax company? Obviously, one is paid and one isnt, but I have the general feeling "externships" aren't too sexy, because theyre for credit. Any thoughts on this? Which one would look better to a biglaw employer?

That's what I'm leaning toward, but the paid position is only like $15 an hour... So if the extern is better, I'd do it.

There is absolutely no difference in how a position looks to anyone based on whether it's called internship or externship, or whether it's for credit or for free. (All else being equal, that is.) Anything paid is a bonus. One thing to consider is that it should be easy enough to intern/extern with a judge during the school year if you want to get that experience as well. (2L year, that is.)
