How to coordinate LORs?

Post by Hutz_and_Goodman » Thu Oct 15, 2015 9:37 am

I am applying to clerkships and the format requested by the judges ranges from paper, to email, to OSCAR. Some judges are not hiring now, but will be hiring later. Is the easiest way to coordinate LORs to have the recommenders upload to OSCAR? If so, is there a way to have a paper recommendation sent from OSCAR or an email? Any thoughts on what is easiest would be very appreciated.

To clarify--

my current plan is to:
1. apply on OSCAR for judges that want apps via this system (which generates email request to my recommenders)
2. send recommenders an email listing the judges who want recommendations by snail mail, and the recommenders who want recommendations electronically.

Is there an easier way to do this that I'm not aware of?

I don't think so - I think you're stuck doing it that way. If your recommenders are profs or partners the paper letters aren't that big a deal, their assistants will handle them. Check whether your law school has a system to make the process easier on profs - we had to submit a list formatted for mail merge to their assistants, to streamline everything.

Thanks. The recommenders are all profs. It is amazing that there is no easier system than this especially given that clerkship postings are rolling.
