I have a second round interview with a judge and just realized they want a two year commitment. I'm not sure if I'm willing to do that: it's 6 hours away from SO in the middle of nowhere. I'd definitely do it for 1 year though.
Wanted to know if anyone was in similar boat and somehow was able to commit to 1 year instead of 2.

Re: 2 year to 1 year commitment?
I interviewed with a district judge who was hiring for a two-year term and was very open about the fact that I could only commit to one year. He/She appeared open to considering that possibility and indicated that I would remain under consideration. (I ultimately withdrew from consideration after receiving another offer, before I heard either way from that judge.) Take that for what it's worth.
