Okay, so I have my recommenders settled, but I'm not sure what to do about references.
TD;DR: Would a reference list of a clerk, 1 of my recommenders, and someone from my 2LSA firm be reasonable?
My recommenders are 3 professors and a CoA judge. For applications that ask for 2-3 recommenders, the only people I can think of outside of school are the clerks from my externship. Unfortunately, I don't have post-law school work experience, so I don't have old employers to list. I was at a different firm for 1LSA than 2LSA, but intentionally worked in all the practice groups so I'd have a better idea of what I wanted to do. Great for helping me focus on a couple practices this summer, but terrible for working with people enough for me to feel comfortable with them as a reference.
