Reference checks on Clerkship application process

Post by waterville » Mon Apr 13, 2015 11:50 pm

Hi, I submitted my clerkship application via the email method. I put down three references on my application. Can anyone tell me whether the reference checks' take place before or after the interview? thanks

Depends on the judge. One of my judges would check references (and call additional folks) before extending any interview. The other waits to see whether she likes you at the interview before she checks references.
