It looks like all of the AZ District Court Judges' Oscar pages say that they will not contact for interviews until late June, and that they will not conduct interviews until after July 6. Is that true? Do judges usually stick to what their Oscar profile says? Reading these forums it looks like many people are already interviewing and receiving offers, although notably from other districts.
If that is the true practice, is there any damage to applying in late May? I will be able to use a much better writing sample by then. I already feel late now but would much rather have the better writing sample. On the other hand a better writing sample won't do me any good if judges have already interviewed. Any constructive advice is welcome.

Could always apply now and if position still open update your app to include new sample. I wouldn't wait around.
