DE court of chancery
Hard to get a good sense of how competitive/well-regarded a DE court of chancery clerkship is. Anyone have a good inkling? Good for general corporate litigation as well as transactional work?

Interviewed for a clerkship during my summer associate job and when telling a partner why I'd be out of the office, he said that it's the best possible clerkship for people who want to do corporate work. This was at a NYC v5, for whatever that's worth.

Interviewed with 3/5 of the Vice Chancellors but did not receive an offer (T6, law review). I was very unsure whether I wanted to clerk but partners at my V5 made very clear this was the best (perhaps only worthwhile) clerkship for aspiring M&A / corporate lawyers. Although a Vice Chancellor made clear that around 40% of the clerks will do corporate litigation, it appears a unique opportunity for transactional attorneys in particular. I applied because I thought the clerkship would provide me a rare opportunity to see how deals go wrong / would give me an opportunity to review the entire deal process from a macro level. And I applied because I figured spending a year learning the DGCL would better serve me than a year doing diligence as a first year and would help me stick out amongst my class.
Anecdotally, I know of people who turned down competitive district court clerkships (think SDNY/EDNY/ND Ill.), and, apparently, high court of appeals (allegedly at least one DC Cir.). The clerks who interviewed me had a similar profile -- V5 NY corporate practice from top 10 schools. Many were law review.
