Hello,
Federal District Judge had an emergency opening and requested 3Ls to apply immediately by July 10. I sent a paper application and it got there by Jul 9. Never heard anything? Should I call or don't bother? If so, who should I call?

Re: Call the Judge?
You can call chambers, talk to whichever nice person answers (probably the judicial assistant), and say you're calling to inquire whether the judge has completed his/her hiring. You can manufacture other deadlines if you want to give a reason but you don't need to. If they say he's hired, you thank them and that's that. If they say he's still in the process, you could say something about wanting to state your continued interest (but it hasn't been that long since you applied so they'll probably assume you're still interested).
