Do Federal Clerks Get Relocation Benefits?

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Jun 28, 2014 9:44 pm

yea, snobby question, I know. I have nice furniture, and I don't want to lift it myself. The firm will pay for relo, but I can't accept benefits if I'm clerking.

Anyone have answers?

No, at least not that I've ever known.

No. But your firm might pay your relocation expenses in the move from your clerkship to your firm.

Maybe they will reimburse you after your clerkship. Hold on to your receipts, at least.

Just call and ask. I don't know why people never want to do this. Usually the firm has fielded this question many times before. They aren't going to think you are being ridiculous, especially when they offer relocation to incoming associates anyway.

Clerks only get relocation benefits if they're at an "international" duty station, e.g. Alaska.
