Re: Interview for 2015-2016 Term but No Plans for 2014-2015 Yet

Are there any legal aid agencies or city attorney/DA/PD agencies that are taking full-time volunteers? That can be something you can try to get onto so you can at least show you're judge you're trying to do something useful.

Congrats on the interview. I hope you get it.

This happened to me before I started my clerkship. I had something lined up informally between graduation and clerkship to replace someone who planned on leaving for the position i applied for for a gig with the feds, but due to sequester, my gig got post poned for a year so I had the gap. If a Judge asked during in an interview, I was prepared o say that I am currently still looking and looking into opportunities like legal aid or aother non-profit litigation firms (I couldn't really explain my situation because the offer i had was informal). I interviewed with two diff federal judges, and Ironically it did not come up at all. I will say just be honest and also show that you are not just sitting on your ass --that you are actually looking into opp. particulary in litigation oriented firms/places. if you are bold, you can even go "i will travel" route, but you need to be very affiable to pull this off IMO. Best of luck!
