What are "flyover" courts?
People mention flyover courts quite frequently in this thread, but it's hard to gauge the term is referencing. In Federal Courts of Appeals, is it basically anything non-DC/2/9? What about other circuits with huge cities in them like 7th or 1st? Are those still "flyover"? Any help on clarifying what the term means would be greatly appreciated!

Everyone knows that you don't fly over the 7th Circuit. When I say "flyover" I tend to mentally omit major cities. For instance, there are parts of Texas I'd consider flyover, but I wouldn't consider Dallas/Houston/Austin as flyover. Conversely, Atlanta's not flyover, but a lot of the rest of Georgia I'd call flyover.
(Also, I say "flyover" with love, having clerked somewhere many would call flyover. I usually use it to mean "lots of you won't consider this prestigious but it was still pretty awesome.")
