I would assume we won't hear anything now until the plan opens - why not wait a couple days and see if there's someone else you would want to consider for the spot?

Haven't heard on 2nd Cir movement, but some judges want to pick up alums or 3Ls and specifically want to avoid the mad dash of the plan when other judges are interviewing everyone.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 12:22 pmI would assume we won't hear anything now until the plan opens - why not wait a couple days and see if there's someone else you would want to consider for the spot?

Does anyone know if Judge Nardini in New Haven has sent out interviews or offers? OSCAR seems to indicate that positions are available, but a prior poster indicated that interviews had been scheduled three weeks ago.

For what it's worth, I know someone who interviewed for that position last year (but didn't get it), so the judge may have been accepting paper applications before the posting was put up.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 12:37 pmDoes anyone know if Judge Nardini in New Haven has sent out interviews or offers? Anyone know if Briccetti (SDNY) is accepting applications for 25-26? On the one hand, I've heard reports that he's full through '26, but accepting apps for the '26 term. On the other, I've heard reports that he hasn't even begun accepting '25 apps yet. (He doesn't use OSCAR, and I'm not sure how often the clerkship listing on his site is updated).

I know someone who interviewed with him but has not heard anything one way or the other yet if that is what you're asking. He has definitely extended interview offers though.
Will note, my understanding of Walker through the clerkship office is that he typically extends offers on the spot after the interview.

Re: Let's talk 2nd Circuit!
Has anyone heard anything about what Ho’s reputation was like as a boss at the ACLU (or, somewhat less probative, when running the Racial Justice clinic at NYU)? It’s obviously not quite the same - but it’s at least something to work off of…

Yes, know quite a few people who have hired in 2023 or 2024.

How did they get hired by Ho so quickly? He was just confirmed and I didn't see his posting anywhere.

Re: Let's talk 2nd Circuit!
Many, maybe even most, new judges hire their first class or two from their networks rather than putting up a posting or having an open application process. It can be a bit of a "if you have to seek it out yourself, you aren't getting hired" situation. Some judges also consider apps informally before they're confirmed.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 1:10 pmHow did they get hired by Ho so quickly? A lot of newly confirmed judges reach out through their networks to hire their first or second batch of clerks.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 1:10 pmHow did they get hired by Ho so quickly? He was just confirmed and I didn't see his posting anywhere.

Re: Let's talk 2nd Circuit!
Ho posted on law schools internal postings and also reached out to networks. I'm not saying he is *completely* full for 2023 and 2024 but given the amount of people I know who got interviews and jobs with him for those years I would assume he is full.

Pretty much the bunch did. Kovner is hired for a few years out, Amon, Garaufis, Komitee and Donnelly all moved also

Amon and Garaufis typically don't hire until August or the fall. Also, Donnelly does not hire on-plan and will only consider clerks with work experience for the upcoming year.

Amon and Garaufis had filled at least some of their 2025 spots last year per a current clerk. Was this movement from c/o 2024?
