For extreme flyover districts, think like SD/ND/MT; how many apps do these judges get most likely? Still a few hundred?

I'd estimate 400-500. My flyover isn't quite that bad, but it's close.

Oscar has a chart/map on that from last year's applications. You can see how many applications were received per position and it is divided by district. I can't comment though on last year's figures compared to this year.

Also, keep in mind that chart/map (though very useful) only includes applications that went through OSCAR. Paper/e-mailed apps don't show up.

Any movement today? I got a call from an ND Ill judge about 30 mins after apps went live. Curious if other judges are moving that quickly.

No, it's very common. I'm doing it in '13 and '14.

No limit on actually working there. Most judges will not let you work or comment on any appeal that was in your district court judge's chambers during your time there. Some may go further than that and bar you from working on any of your district court judge's cases at all.
