Baer (SDNY) is full (this may not be news but I just found out). He may not have informed them yet.

For extreme flyover districts, think like SD/ND/MT; how many apps do these judges get most likely? Still a few hundred?

I'd estimate 400-500. My flyover isn't quite that bad, but it's close.Anonymous User wrote:For extreme flyover districts, think like SD/ND/MT; how many apps do these judges get most likely? Still a few hundred?

Oscar has a chart/map on that from last year's applications. You can see how many applications were received per position and it is divided by district. I can't comment though on last year's figures compared to this year.Anonymous User wrote:For extreme flyover districts, think like SD/ND/MT; how many apps do these judges get most likely? Also, keep in mind that chart/map (though very useful) only includes applications that went through OSCAR. Paper/e-mailed apps don't show up.Anonymous User wrote:Oscar has a chart/map on that from last year's applications. Any movement today? I got a call from an ND Ill judge about 30 mins after apps went live. Curious if other judges are moving that quickly.

Are there any ethical limitations (or other limitations to be aware of) in going from a district court clerkship to a circuit court clerkship in the same circuit?

No, it's very common. I'm doing it in '13 and '14.Anonymous User wrote:Are there any ethical limitations (or other limitations to be aware of) in going from a district court clerkship to a circuit court clerkship in the same circuit?

No limit on actually working there. Most judges will not let you work or comment on any appeal that was in your district court judge's chambers during your time there. Some may go further than that and bar you from working on any of your district court judge's cases at all.

Why's this thread so inactive? Can people post judges they heard from today?

All I've got is a confirmation from a 6th Cir. judge that my application was received. Nothing else.Schieff wrote:Just a guess, but I imagine most people are like me and didn't hear anything.Flips88 wrote:Why's this thread so inactive? Can people post judges they heard from today?
