Any word on NYC lit/regulatory? Been applying a bunch for an October start but radio silence so far. Not sure if this is a really bad sign or if things are going to pick up over the spring/summer (or what past cycles looked like). Some firms don't have general clerk openings and just have job postings which I assumes means more stuff will come open, but they don't seem very transparent on when that might be.

Does anyone have a sense how long post-callback it takes to hear about either an offer or getting dinged….?

If you find out let me know because I am on six or seven weeks post-callback without a response. I wonder if we are waiting on the same firm…

Bad sign. Plenty of SDNY clerks had multiple offers well before Christmas.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 12:47 amAny word on NYC lit/regulatory? Lol, chill. NYC firms are still interviewing and offering. But if you haven't heard anything from anywhere you've applied, it may be time to start working your network.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 10:33 pmBad sign. Re: 2024-2025 post clerkship hiring
Checking in with my fellow clerks looking for jobs in DC. It seems like a few firms are finally starting to sort through the resume pile—I got rejected from Williams & Connolly today but got an interview request from a DC mid-size boutique.
Anybody heard from other places? Especially curious to know if there’s been any movement from Covington, Jenner, or Wilmer.

Nothing from any of these places. Although I'm curious how you applied to A&P, they don't seem to have a general opening for clerks on their website? They have a few specific openings but none that fit clerks.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 11:12 amanyone hear from Davis Polk, Covington, Kirkland, or Arnold & Porter in DC?

I had the same question, I didn't see a general clerkship posting for A&P (or Wilmer). Nothing from Cov or DPW, at least for me, but a clerk in my building got a Kirkland DC screener invite.MDNCU wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 3:12 pmNothing from any of these places. Re: 2024-2025 post clerkship hiring
I applied for A&P and got a message that post-clerkship hiring had closed, but keep an eye out for other opportunities. Wilmer has been a complete mystery. No hiring posting, no response to my email, I don’t know what they’re doing and if they’re hiring at all. Can confirm that Kirkland DC is scheduling screeners.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 3:43 pmI had the same question, I didn't see a general clerkship posting for A&P (or Wilmer). crickets for me here in the DC market when it comes to V50 firms…have some movement in the V60-80 range but this sucksAnonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 3:43 pmI had the same question, I didn't see a general clerkship posting for A&P (or Wilmer). A&P had a clerkship posting but looks like the page has been taken down. I applied to it and got rejected a couple weeks later. I got a Kirkland DC screener, Skadden, PW, Gibson rejections, ghosted otherwise.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 3:43 pmI had the same question, I didn't see a general clerkship posting for A&P (or Wilmer). where are y’all clerking? respectfully, if flyover district clerks are having trouble in this market, that’s not surprising.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 12:53 amcrickets for me here in the DC market when it comes to V50 firms…have some movement in the V60-80 range but this sucksAnonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 3:43 pmI had the same question, I didn't see a general clerkship posting for A&P (or Wilmer). but if SDNY/DDC clerks are having trouble landing A job in NY/DC, then that’s a canary in the coal mine for legal jobs.

To clarify also, you all still have the option of going back to your prior firm right? Assuming you have one

A lot of honors hires who lost government offers do not have this option.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 9:34 amTo clarify also, you all still have the option of going back to your prior firm right? Assuming you have one

Does anyone know what the application timeline is like for Spring 2026 starts? Should I start applying now?

Re: 2024-2025 post clerkship hiring
I'm getting worried about this. I applied to a few firms back in late January with no luck. With that said, I wasn't too worried because I figured I could just go back to my old firm. Well, they are basically ghosting me, haven't heard anything about my offer in over a month. I'm getting worried now because I haven't applied to many firms since then, and if my old firm pulls out, I'm gonna be screwed since it's now mid-April. I've been frantically applying to a lot more firms within the last week or so, but I'm worried that now it's far too late.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 9:34 amTo clarify also, you all still have the option of going back to your prior firm right? If it helps, I didn’t accept my return offer until last week, after having no contact with my old firm since I left, and nobody seemed to think I had waited too long to reach out.lawchicadilly wrote: ↑Mon Apr 14, 2025 4:50 pmI'm getting worried about this. Re: 2024-2025 post clerkship hiring
Had callback interviews for a Boston firm about three weeks ago for a late summer start, haven't heard a peep since. I sent an email about a week ago (2 weeks out from the interview) just re-expressing interest and asking if they had a general sense of timeline, and I never heard back. Any sense of what that is/if I should follow up again or just leave it?

Re: 2024-2025 post clerkship hiring
Probably a bad sign. I had a similar thing happen a couple of months ago, and the firm ended up ghosting me even after I followed up 3 weeks after the callback. I did not send a second email, but I don't think it can hurt to follow up again in a week. In any case, it's probably a no.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 9:57 amHad callback interviews for a Boston firm about three weeks ago for a late summer start, haven't heard a peep since. How does post-clerkship public interest hiring typically work? More of a free for all, I assume?
