I think Chicago's bad this year - Jenner and Sidley are both disclaiming any hiring from market, at least without prior connection.

Same, also three smaller appellate DC shops for interviews. Applied around 1/10 for all. Also, WLRK ding in late December, maybe 2 weeks after applying. So far, just one NYC V5 offer.

I spoke to former coclerk colleagues at ML/Dechert/DLA in Philly and all of them indicated their respective firm was not currently looking to hire law clerks. I am not entirely sure if that meant "maybe a bit later" or "no hiring." And I echo the second posters comments on Sidley in both Chicago and NY. Apparently they had a large summer class for litigation and are not considering new people. FWIW, I tend to trust these people's take because most of them operated out of their own financial interests, hoping to get a referral bonus if I got a gig.

I interviewed there earlier this cycle and it took just under a month after applying to get an interview invite.

Received "while we were impressed with your app, we don't have any openings" from Wilkinson Walsh D.C. I'm a couple years more senior than the traditional appellate clerk, but has anyone else heard this? Assuming it's just a polite auto-ding.

Does anybody have any word on JD LA?
Email from JD LA of no current openings

Also curious if any recent WLRK dings by email versus dings after in-office interview.

Has anyone had a firm reach out for references before even extending a screener interview? I know some firms specifically ask for references with the initial application, but for firms that just asked for a resume/transcript.

Applied over a month ago. 2/9/DC Clerk, top 10%, LR T14.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
