I presume just a header line (ie, don't list any responsibilities because we haven't done any work yet)? And list both if we're splitting?Anonymous User wrote:You absolutely should do this.Anonymous User wrote:2Ls, are you listing your SA for next summer on your résumé?

Even after you've done the SA, I wouldn't list your responsibilities unless you've got an empty resume. Everyone knows what SAs do.Anonymous User wrote:I presume just a header line (ie, don't list any responsibilities because we haven't done any work yet)? Re: 2016-2017 Clerkship Application Thread
Hey all,
I have what might be a dumb question. I know that things are kind of crazy right now with the application cycle getting earlier and earlier (one of the judges I was hoping would be on the table, has already hired up for 2016-2017). I am wondering about judges who have things like "I am hiring 1 clerk for 2015-2016" on their OSCAR profiles. Should I be sending out to all COA judges now on the off chance that they are moving early? Should I wait until they have an official posting for 2016-2017? I don't want to miss the boat, but I also don't want my application to get lost in a rabbit hole.
Any advice welcome!
Thanks

Any news on the Fifth Circuit judges based in Houston for the 2016-2017 term? E.g. Jones, Costa.

Has there been any movement on Chutkan, Boasberg, or Cooper in DC?

Chutkan posted specific dates for contacting interviewees (10/20) and conducting interviews (11/5 to 11/7) on OSCAR.Anonymous User wrote:Has there been any movement on Chutkan, Boasberg, or Cooper in DC?

Saw that, thanks! Just wondering if anyone had heard from her yet (it says will be notified by 10/20).ResIpsa21 wrote:Chutkan posted specific dates for contacting interviewees (10/20) and conducting interviews (11/5 to 11/7) on OSCAR.Anonymous User wrote:Has there been any movement on Chutkan, Boasberg, or Cooper in DC?

Boasberg hired ages ago. I can't say with certainty whether he's full, but I would astonished if he weren't.Anonymous User wrote:Has there been any movement on Chutkan, Boasberg, or Cooper in DC?

I can't speak to Cooper's 2016-17 timeline, but I hear the bar is very, very high. Like Boasbergian.Anonymous User wrote:Has there been any movement on Chutkan, Boasberg, or Cooper in DC?

Do you know anything about Chutkan's hiring practices?

Can anyone speak to the number and quality of applicants for he 16-17 term? With the legal market getting substantially better for graduates of top schools and the smaller classes it would make sense that the game would become more applicant-friendly.

Re: 2016-2017 Clerkship Application Thread
I don't know any specifics about the 16-17 term, but I think this is still a little overoptimistic. Given how many applications judges get, even knocking off a couple hundred applications (which there's no evidence is happening) isn't going to help much. And the pool of applicants isn't limited to one graduating class.andythefir wrote:Can anyone speak to the number and quality of applicants for he 16-17 term? The legal market is actually getting worse. We lost jobs last month.andythefir wrote:Can anyone speak to the number and quality of applicants for he 16-17 term? Re: 2016-2017 Clerkship Application Thread
There seems to be an increase in folks interested in two clerkships, which is only making the applicant pool more competitive. When in the past someone might be content with doing a CoA as their only clerkship, many CoA clerks are now looking to follow up their first clerkship with a district court. And whereas clerkships used to be something that many people would only consider if they were planning on certain career paths, they now seem to have become very much a brass ring that any top law student applies for, even if their end goal is corporate work.andythefir wrote:Can anyone speak to the number and quality of applicants for he 16-17 term? In sum, I certainly don't think the game is becoming more applicant-friendly. I suspect it is the reverse.
