any idea on the timeline to expect an offer/rejection from mayer brown post interview?
Congrats on getting an interview invite! I didn't even get one. I assumed (incorrectly) that they were just not looking at applications yet. Womp!
Yay congrats. Which MB office?
Separate poster. I got invited to interview for the SCOTUS/Appellate group.
Mind sharing when you got the interview invite?
This week!

How do you know it was for the appellate/scotus practice group? Half my interviewers are with that practice group and the other half are in litigation more generally. Anyone have a sense of how many they're hiring?

No, I believe they are still early on in their process. Last week was the first week of interviews. I would expect to hear back the week after next.

Oh, because I responded directly to the SCOTUS/Appellate recruiting letter. My interview was with members of that group exclusively.

Yes. I know of people who have gone application -> offer during that time period.

On the bright side, Quinn seems pretty proactive about dinging people who don’t meet their baseline requirements. I know people who have gone application -> ding in a matter of days. To me, the radio silence implies that they think you’re a plausible candidate but have put you on hold for one reason for another.

What's the consensus on following up on applications (without an interview)? "Hey, I got an offer from another firm but am still interested. Can you provide any update on your hiring timeline?"

If it's a ding, I'd like to know for sure

I did this and successfully secured an interview with a firm that was previously silent.

Congrats on the interview! Thanks for sharing. Should I send this on the same email chain as my original app? Does that seem rude at all?

[different anon] I've been doing this--expressing my continued interest and letting them know i have offers/interviews for timeline purposes. If they like you, they will appreciate it and the email won't suddenly move you from a yes/maybe to a no.

Ok so I applied to a V20 firm on their website a couple months ago, and was dinged a couple days later. I've been doing some networking, and a partner at that same firm has since told me to feel free to send them my materials for an application if I'm interested. The partner doesn't know I was dinged already. Is it inappropriate to reapply?

The worst that can happen is they reject you again. Go for it.

Thank you . Only applied to Sidley of these but haven't heard anything yet which is maybe a good thing but my profile is not competitive so it's just a matter of time until that ding comes in.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
