I still am. It has been an incredibly difficult and frustrating process. Not really sure what to do at this point. If others have stories or words of wisdom to share, they would be much appreciated.Anonymous User wrote:You definitely aren't the only one. The only thing keeping me going right now is my friends that clerked last year telling me that a lot of people end up leaving their firms after taking summer vacations, opening up another large batch of spots. We're just going to have to wait our turn.Anonymous User wrote:Is anyone else still struggling? I feel so defeated.

For those who did federal COA, did you notice significant improvement in employability? I've heard mixed things about district, but virtually nothing on COA.

For those looking for restructuring positions in NYC, all SDNY, EDNY, and DE clerks have been hired at this point, so you might have some better luck now.

If you switch markets after clerking and need to take a new bar in February when you’re done clerking, will a firm give you some time off before the bar to study? If so, do they provide a stipend during that time in addition to paying for bar fees?

Anecdotally, I’ve seen people get time off, but I think the amount varies by firm. I don’t know about paying for fees, but as for stipend, you don’t get one because you’re getting paid (at least, assuming I understand you correctly and you’ve started working for the firm already after the clerkship).
(Also assuming you just got the new market job because it would otherwise make sense to take the new bar during the clerkship.)
