I seem to be late to the party, recently finished my clerkship and am looking to start in the fall (litigation). I assume it's still worth it to apply broadly? Any advice for someone in my position in terms of timing?
How competitive are you aside from the clerkship and have you worked in biglaw before? Advice is probably going to differ if this is top 10% at T6 versus median at T14 and if you have prior biglaw experience.
Top third at T14 and have not worked in biglaw. I do not necessarily come into this with high expectations given the lack of a firm on my resume.
The only real advice is to apply to any position that’s still open. Boutique firms are likely done hiring at this point, but at least some Big Law firms might still have openings. I know Ropes in New York just did their clerkship reception, so I’d check there.
I would say try applying broadly to both boutiques and big law at this point. Even if firms don't have a position posted, sending a cover letter and resume directly to the recruiter for the offices you're interested might get you traction somewhere, especially if you have any interesting work experience or a good story. Just be prepared for many rejections/no responses.

How long does it take to hear back after a call-back interview? At what point should I follow up? Been about 2 weeks now.

1-2 weeks is standard for many in my experience but I wouldn’t start to worry until the 1 month mark.

Anyone hear from Susman or know how their process works?
Don't know how their process works. But applied in December. Got my rejection back in about two weeks or so.
Also got my rejection quickly (within days).
Ah okay, sorry to hear! I haven’t heard much about them, so was just curious whether they were moving and giving offers and interviews.
Current SG associate. We're actively interviewing and giving offers.

FWIW, some offices seem to be taking longer to consider the candidate pool before moving forward with offers than others.
Sorry to revive an old thread. If you still work at SG, can you let us know if they’ve begun interviewing and extending offers?
