Alright when are we gonna start breaking some confidentiality policies and posting some names

I am sure a bunch of law students would love to jeopardize their chances for a clerkship by blabbing about the judge online before they have an offer lol.

You can just post the info the clerkship offices give to all their students

Yeah, obviously this is a perk of going to those schools, but feels like just saying which judges have offered interviews is not disclosing confidential school info. Would love it if someone gave some clues!

It is at mine, all the info released by clerkship office is headlined as confidential/no sharing

Every year, people post interview news, and I doubt literally anyone has ever been rescinded for it. There's a massive rumor mill in the first couple of weeks at all of the big clerkship schools so info could come from anywhere. Just don't be a moron and post something personally identifiable.

If anyone is looking to start clerking immediately, there is an immediate opening in San Diego federal district court:

I found these immediate openings are a good way to get to the top of the stack because there are far fewer applicants.

On the flip side -- speaking from experience, sometimes if a judge has an immediate opening that could be a red flag. You should find out why there is an immediate opening. Did they recently fire a clerk? Did the clerk that was going to fill that position get the offer reneged or they decided not to clerk for that judge?

It's not a red flag. I know one of the clerks trying to fill the spot and he's obsessed with her. I don't know why there's an opening, but he pitches the opening to everyone he meets.

I mean, yeah, but it's not actually proprietary Harvard info or something. CLS labels their clerkship materials confidential too, but 99% of it is useless information that is absolutely not unique to CLS. It'll be stuff like their handbook that just says to talk to your professors and to apply broadly.

My cursory read of the 2019 “Movement Today” thread is that Monday interview calls were much crazier then than in 2021 or 202. Is this accurate or are we all just cowards about self-reporting now?

District courts beyond SDNY/DDC/etc. often move slower, and even on the super-competitive districts some top judges are notably slow (eg Seeger)

No, when I applied I got calls for semi-/feeders through Wednesday.

Calls have been going out for non-SDNY/DDC districts like NDIL, EDNY, DConn, DMass, EDPA. Do not know about any other districts.

There are huge differences between SDNY judges. Some hire incredibly quickly, and some do not.

Absolutely not. Some of the folks in the building will move faster than others, yes, but there are some that will take a beat. Source: am in the building (which is why I am anon).

Is it generally common for Circuit clerkships 2/9/DC to move quickly? I’m other words, if I haven’t heard from these judges yet today, am I out of luck?

Fwiw I’m a reach feeder applicant and have already decided to wrap it up and move on to 3L. Sure, DC Cir. moves a tad later, but these things are correlated and I haven’t heard a sniff
