Future DDC clerk here. In my experience, the most competitive judges tend to move as soon as the plan permits them to (which would be tomorrow at noon), and tend to make hiring decisions between 24 and 48 hours after that.
Quite a few of the judges were doing in person interviews today.

Doing in-person interviews the day the plan opens is... bold. Are they just not interviewing anyone not already in DC?

The non-plan ones are moving, I know Cronan started making calls yesterday.

Many students who consider themselves competitive remain in DC for the plan's opening. Additionally, numerous judges cheat and reach out to students early.

There’s a strong correlation between the types of candidates who will get interview offers on DDC/DC Cir. and those who summer in DC at particular firms/DOJ sections/etc.

Obviously it’s not every case, but you can look up the profiles of recent clerks and see the positive correlation there.

Not one of the districts everyone here is probably looking at, but Lange on D-S.D. moved today.

From sources I'm seeing basically all the judges of SDNY have moved. Unsuprisingly, they tend to move quick. Have not heard anything about Rochon, Gardephe, or Stein though.

So like…how screwed are we if we heard nothing today??? Applied to like 25ish judges, half district half COA, so obvi it’s less likely I’d hear than someone who did 100, but is the general belief that most, or at least most COA judges, call today vs later this week?

Just curious—how does your school clerkship office report interview movement? My T-14 doesn’t do this at all (at least not to update students, to the extent they do track interview offers) so it’s basically radio silence on our end.

I heard that she was mostly looking for candidates with work (and especially previous clerkship) experience because she's a new judge, so it's not that surprising - and since her OSCAR posting is for this August, it's not like she was looking at 2Ls anyways.

I assume the same is true for DDC and DC Cir? Even the ones hiring for 2026? (My school doesn't have a spreadsheet with these sorts of updates.)

Yes almost certainly. Everyone who sticks to the plan in these districts move fast. Truthfully, if you don't hear anything today, it's unlikely you will unfortunately.

Does anyone happen to have any insight on how fast D. Conn. judges typically move? I would imagine it is pretty judge-specific, but I'm curious

Pretty sure almost all of DDC/DCCOA will have sent out interviews by today.

Anyone have hiring intel for these?

Any updates on COA judges? Not seeing as much movement from my school as I expected, but not sure if people are updating as they get interviews or just accepting positions.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
