I was forced to withdraw because of suicidal ideation.

Should I be applying for them now? This has come as a HUGE surprise, very unexpected. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

One of my closest friends had the vice versa experience - started at a tier 4 and transferred to a top-20. He was in the top 1-3% at the first school, and slightly below median at the second despite working just as hard. At least in his experience it wasn't only that there was a qualitative difference between the students, but also that the curriculum was different. Instead of doing 5 cases for each subtopic in a doctrinal course, they spent the whole semester on 5 cases.

You also have to bare in mind that OP was medicated this year, and I'd imagine doing law school with an untreated mental illness would be like playing football with a fractured hamstring. I can speak from personal experience in saying that I've had insomnia for about a decade, and while I was able to do pretty well without sleeping, my grades shot way up the one semester I took medication for it. I ultimately got off it, because I would go jogging in my sleep, which is funny in hindsight but was less so when I woke up a mile from home with no wallet, cell phone or shoes.

The hostility is unwarranted. I'm just asking about my chances for federal and state clerkships based on my stats. I realize that there's Career Services, but they would paint a rosier picture.

Assuming the statistics presented are accurate, there is too limited of a sample size to extract information. For starters, assuming a class size of 300, there are 3 people at your school in the top 1%. If we take the top 1% of the 50 or so Tier 3 schools, that is 150 people total.

In addition, you also have to account for those in the top 1% 2L year who were below median their first year, which significantly reduces the 150 people.

Then you need to further limit the total to those students who transferred from a Tier 1 to a Tier 3, which further cuts into this figure.

This is before anyone tries to account for the impact of two leaves of absence.

Before you spend too much time taking all the #'s into consideration and spit out an answer, I'll save you time and provide you the answer: nobody knows.

I was more so addressing Danger Zone's vitriol, which was completely unwarranted and inappropriate, bordering on harassment/abuse.

If you don't believe me, I am willing to post screenshots of my grades and the letter from the registrar stating that I am ranked 2nd in the class. What the hell would I get out of lying to a bunch of anonymous internet strangers? I'm exactly who I say I am.

Who are you? A second year law student? A person who passed the bar and is waiting to get cleared by C&F?

I'm a second year law student. I enrolled in August 2011, withdrew, re-enrolled, withdrew in October 2014, and transferred to another school. I have only completed 43 credits.

Yes, she's not answering the bar passage question. This conversation has occurred a bunch of times already and rehashing it is boring. The mods are aware of the situation.

It's a shame because good people on this site are legitimately trying to give advice to a person that is obviously bullshitting solely for the sake of attention.

Saying you haven't passed the bar isn't the same as admitting you claimed you had, which is what is getting people.

Anyway, there was some good advice here, but I think it's run it's course.
