Isn't LR at Chicago grade on? Someone from Chicago just landed a OT 2015 SCOTUS clerkship who didn't make LR. :shock:

Astronomical 2L/3L grades then? Short of a killer connection, I can't imagine what else is going on there.

I mean, that person could have chosen not to do law review at all. There are other ways to show writing ability/attention to detail/ability to grind. They could have a great pre-LS story. Also, I think you underestimate the value of killer connections.
