Bacharach, Ebel, Matheson, and Rossman have all moved. Bacharach was scheduling some interviews for next week. Matheson at least has extended offers.

not quite on point, but when is it acceptable to reach out for a status update? Going on almost a month and a half with no update after an interview.

Re: Movement
Bacharach, Matheson, and Rossman moved. Matheson already made a couple offers.
Bacharach was setting some of his interviews for early next week, and I’m sure some candidates will already have accepted other clerkships before then. So there might be more invites to come.

I've heard that Holcomb, Hsu, and Selna have moved.
Anyone know if Collins or Lee on CA9 have moved?

Adding onto this, my understanding is a lot of the judges in that building make offers really quickly so if you have not heard I guess it is a ding. (Although maybe sometimes they take their time).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 4:28 pmCalabresi, Cabranes, and Carney have all made at least some offers
Also broadly for everyone else, I would operate under the assumption that everyone who is hiring on plan will have or has extended interview invitations by now if not offers.

Re: Movement
Is this really true? Maybe for the most competitive judges and geographies, but I thought the reason those judges move so fast is because they're trying to scoop up the most competitive applicants, and everyone else will hire on slightly more relaxed of a schedule? Or did you just mean on CA2, because then, yeah you're probably right lol.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 1:25 pmAdding onto this, my understanding is a lot of the judges in that building make offers really quickly so if you have not heard I guess it is a ding. Re: Movement
I would not operate under this assumption. Speaking from personal experience, in summer 2020 I had two interview offers come in on the Friday of week 2 of the plan—one federal district and one state supreme court. I don't think that is unusual. Granted, I would not get your hopes up either. Just that the judges who are not fighting to get the top 2–3% at HYS often work on a different timeline.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 1:25 pmAdding onto this, my understanding is a lot of the judges in that building make offers really quickly so if you have not heard I guess it is a ding. Re: Movement
Ehhhhh, I mean, yeah, maybe SSC is moving a bit slower, but I would say that ~85% of the COA clerkships that hire on plan as well as like ~85% of SDNY, EDNY, DDC, EDVA, NDIL, D. Mass, the CA districts, and the TX districts will have sent their first rounds within the first week the plan opens.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 8:04 pmI would not operate under this assumption. There are way more federal districts than the ones you just listed, though, which I think goes back to the point about judges who are “not fighting to get the top 2-3% at HYS.”Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 9:09 pmEhhhhh, I mean, yeah, maybe SSC is moving a bit slower, but I would say that ~85% of the COA clerkships that hire on plan as well as like ~85% of SDNY, EDNY, DDC, EDVA, NDIL, D. So I agree that there are going to be judges who are moving slower. Unfortunately neither I nor anyone else can say exactly who, how many, or where. So while I don’t think people need to absolutely give up at this point, it is a crappy holding pattern to be in and obviously chances keep going down over time.
