Re: SCOTUS Clerkship Movement?
I’ve heard of at least two Sotomayor clerks which leads me to believe she has finished hiring.

Anything out of the conservatives? I know they go much further out.

New Lat list — not many surprises. SS/KBJ are now filled for next term.
Alito has still only hired one. Perhaps he’s planning to retire at the end of this term after all?

Yeah, saw that - think interesting on Alito, even more interesting that Lat didn't acknowledge it despite having repeatedly referenced the tie between hiring patterns and retirement in the past.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 5:58 pmNew Lat list — not many surprises. Also, it is always fun to see nepotism in clerk hires

It's equally likely that the Alito clerks haven't revealed their names or that Lat hasn't found out.

Don't read anything into it. Alito always asks his future clerks to keep their hirings close to the chest, so word of them spreads slower.

First NYU clerk in a long time! Was wondering if the trend was going to be permanent.

What does your allusion to nepotism refer to?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 4:38 amYeah, saw that - think interesting on Alito, even more interesting that Lat didn't acknowledge it despite having repeatedly referenced the tie between hiring patterns and retirement in the past.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 5:58 pmNew Lat list — not many surprises. New Lat list! Not a lot that's new. A great year for Chicago, and notably great feeding performances from Pryor, Sutton, Chhabria, and Friedrich.
A lot of OT26 hiring is done, and it looks like several justices have dipped into OT27 as well.

Re: SCOTUS Clerkship Movement?
I heard a rumor that the SCOTUS clerkship bonuses are now between 700 and 800 grand. Can anyone verify that? It seems like an awfully sharp jump from 500 grand a few years ago.

Re: SCOTUS Clerkship Movement?
The judges with the most feeds this year:
Thapar (6)
W. Pryor (4)
Rao (4)
Bibas (3)
Katsas (3)
Srinivasan (3)
Sutton (3)
Chhabria (N.D. Cal.) (3)
Friedrich (D.D.C.) (3)
Bress (2)
Hardiman (2)
Harris (2)
Lohier (2)
Boasberg (D.D.C.) (2)
Engelmayer (S.D.N.Y.) (2)
Furman (S.D.N.Y.) (2)
Kovner (E.D.N.Y.) (2)
McFadden (D.D.C.) (2)
I wonder which judges have the most over a 3-4 year spell? I would assume Thapar, Katsas, Srinivasan, Pryor, Sutton in some order.
