Is Tharp actually only hiring now for 2024, or is that a mispost?
Edit: it was, indeed, a mispost.

Does anyone know anything about Judge Jackson-Akiwumi? As far as I've seen, she's never posted on OSCAR. I'm wondering whether she accepts applications through some other channel or just flat-out doesn't consider randos who have no connections.

Does anyone know whether Jenkins or Harjani have interviewed for or filled up their 2025-26 spots?

Reddit said there was some 7th Circuit movement, but no more specifics than that.

the general law school subreddit's had a few posts about them. Nothing centralized, thoughAnonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 5:40 pmWhat Reddit forum covers clerkships?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 1:49 pmReddit said there was some 7th Circuit movement, but no more specifics than that.

I’m wondering the same thing about them plus Wood, Tharp, and the off-plan judges (Kendall; Kness; Harjani)Toastedwalnutsauce wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 10:41 pmAny news on whether Kennelly / pallmayer have started yet?

Does anyone know when Easterbrook makes decisions?

Re: Let's Talk 7th Circuit!
Easterbrook is pretty transparent that he heavily relies on the recommendations of the UChicago clerkship committee to hire his two clerks. I know he conducts his hiring a little later after the plan opens, but I don’t know exactly when. So if you are not a Chicago student (or if you are but the committee hasn’t spoken to you about this and given you the information about the hiring timeline etc), I’d imagine you aren’t in the running. Others probably have better insight into the internal mechanics at Chicago though.

Re: Let's Talk 7th Circuit!
My impression, though it’s been a while since I played this game, is that Easterbrook clerks fall into two buckets: (1) very strong Chicago students (K&E types) who don’t get picked by other judges in the first week of the plan, and (2) Chicago students who plan to pursue academia. Easterbrook is obviously an academic himself, and a side benefit for people with those interests is that his clerks famously barely do any work, leaving time to work on pubs. He indeed has a very transparent hiring process in that he hires whoever Chicago tells him to hire, and he generally doesn’t hire anyone else.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 10:50 amEasterbrook is pretty transparent that he heavily relies on the recommendations of the UChicago clerkship committee to hire his two clerks. My impression as a recent grad is it is much more bucket (1) at this point than bucket (2).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 10:22 pmMy impression, though it’s been a while since I played this game, is that Easterbrook clerks fall into two buckets: (1) very strong Chicago students (K&E types) who don’t get picked by other judges in the first week of the plan, and (2) Chicago students who plan to pursue academia. Maldonado was at one point the most behind district judge in the country or something. No personal knowledge whatsoever but generally not a great thing to be. Lee has a great rep as a boss.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 6:08 pmAny impressions as to what Judges Maldonado and Lee's chambers are like?
