Thanks for the data point. Did you have a screener/callback or you heard back just after applying through the portal?

Radio silence from Susman after first round interview (which was two weeks ago).

Re: 2022-2023 Post-Clerkship Hiring
I know of at least three people in the same position and haven't heard of one person being offered a true second round (i.e. speaking with attorneys at other offices from the one you interviewed with) or getting an offer. This all speculation by my guess is they're interviewing/sitting on candidates until they get a sense of the entire pool and will cull it down for second rounds. The normalization of Zoom interviews seems to mean firms can interview more people without significant costs to the firm so they may be granting more first round interviews than previously.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jan 30, 2023 2:48 pmRadio silence from Susman after first round interview (which was two weeks ago).

Has anyone interviewed with a SCOTUS/Appellate group yet? I think I may have waited too long to apply.

Re: 2022-2023 Post-Clerkship Hiring
hey y'all -- I'm a bit late to the game. tbh, I was at a firm last year and I liked it enough that I would go back, but they don't do offers up front. I've touched base with them and they know I'm interested, but haven't said anything further. (for context: I don't think the issue is me; they are one of the firms experiencing layoffs...)
so, now i'm throwing my hat in the ring. my goal is SF or DC market rate, litigation, with a particular interest in antitrust litigation. culture is more important to me than extra bonus money or prestige.
does anyone have recs for firms to look into? how many do y'all anticipate applying to?

Has anyone received a Quinn post-clerkship offer yet? If so, which office?

My connections have told me that, at least for NYC, Gibson isn't hiring any clerks this year. I got dinged about 48 hours after applyingAnonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 1:40 amHow long after applying through the portal have people heard from Gibson?

Similar credentials, same outcome. Applying for NYC. The ding email said something about limited current needs in litigation, which would track with the other post about not hiring clerks in NYC.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 2:21 amRejected about a week later, no screener. This might be a dumb question, but how much sway do partners have in hiring decisions?
For example, if an applicant has a good relationship with a partner and the partner says that they will "put in a good word," how far does that go? (in biglaw)

Re: 2022-2023 Post-Clerkship Hiring
Gibson DC at least had a historically large summer class in 2022. Between that and the state of the market, I bet that explains why Gibson DC at least would not be hiring any/many clerks.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 11:02 amSimilar credentials, same outcome.
